A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the very same domain. For example, a message sent to the miswritten [email protected] will go to [email protected] if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux website hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all option for a certain email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it will take literally just one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain hosted there. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be accomplished in the very same fashion and will not take more than a click either. In case the catch-all option has already been enabled for a particular domain, you’ll receive a warning message. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never replace or disable any feature automatically.
